Ronald Esperanza Killed in Lodi Car Accident on Highway 12
Authorities Identify One of Two Drivers Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 12 near Guard Road in Lodi as Ronald Esperanza
Lodi, California (December 10, 2019) – Ronald Baoanan Esperanza, 50, of Stockton, has been identified as one of the drivers who were killed Sunday morning in a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Lodi, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner.
The fatal car accident happened at around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, December 8 on Highway 12, just west of Guard Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a red Nissan Altima was traveling eastbound on Highway 12 when for undetermined reasons, it crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a silver Nissan Sentra that was heading westbound.
Esperanza and the driver of the Sentra, who authorities identified as Eduardo Ramirez, 25, of Thornton, were both declared dead at the scene.
Alcohol or drugs were considered factors in the crash.
Highway 12 was closed while the investigation and cleanup took place. The roadway was reopened just before 8:00 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation is underway.
