Nicholas Gonzalez Dies after Riverside County Big Rig Accident on Gilman Springs Road near Bridge Street
Riverside County, California (May 20, 2020) – Authorities have identified Nicholas Anthony Gonzalez, 28, of San Jacinto, as the man who was killed in a big rig accident on Sunday night in Riverside County.
The crash occurred at about 10:45 p.m., on May 17, on Gilman Springs Road, west of Bridge Street.
The police said a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Gonzalez, was traveling on the roadway when, for unknown reasons, it swerved off to the wrong way across the solid yellow lines and crashed into a big rig that was driving the opposite direction.
Gonzalez’s truck then collided with another vehicle, also traveling on the roadway.
Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second vehicle was unhurt.
Debris was spread across the roadway, which caused other non-injury collisions.
Traffic on Gilman Springs Road was stopped in both directions near the crash scene for several hours.
The crash remains under investigation.
