Matthew Lopez Arrested After 5 Injured in Visalia DUI Accident at Santa Fe Street
Five People Injured in DUI Collision at Santa Fe Street and Tulare Avenue in Visalia
Visalia, California – Following an alleged Visalia DUI accident at Santa Fe Street and Tulare Avenue, around five people were left injured on early Saturday morning. The suspect identified as Matthew Lopez, 18 was arrested for the same.
Lopez was driving a Chrysler 300 with five passengers where he tried to crash into a parked car.
The police said that Lopez avoids hitting the parked car and then corrected his vehicle, crossed all the traffic lanes crashing into a tree.
On September 5, the accident was reported at around 3 am in the morning.
The paramedics rushed to the accident site and took all the six people including Lopez to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
From the injured, three people were treated for minor injuries however the other two remained hospitalized as they sustained serious injuries.
Lopez was arrested by the police as he was determined to have been driving under the influence.
The accident remains under investigation.
