30-Year-Old Man Killed in Murrieta Pedestrian Crash on Mountain Avenue near Soboba Street
Murrieta, California (June 28, 2020) – A 30-year-old Hemet man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Saturday evening in Murrieta, police said.
The crash occurred at around 7:12 p.m., on June 27, on Mountain Avenue near Soboba Street.
According to the authorities, the Hemet man was walking on the northern edge of Mountain Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he darted into the roadway where he was struck by a westbound 2002 Honda Civic, driven by Ismael Baez, 34, of San Bernardino.
The Hemet man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Baez remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Intoxication was suspected of having played a role in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
