Joanna Ochoa was a passenger in one of the cars involved in the crash.
According to the article, California Highway Patrol officers responded to southbound Highway 101, south of 3rd Avenue at about 1:49 a.m. following reports of a car crash.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a woman was driving a white Toyota Yaris south when she was rear-ended by a Dodge Charger in the No. 2 lane.
