Jean Macke Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in El Dorado County Car Crash on Highway 50
El Dorado County, California (February 8, 2020) – Jean Macke, 89, from Fair Oaks, has been identified as the woman killed after a two-vehicle crash that left two others injured on Thursday evening in El Dorado County, according to authorities.
The crash happened at about 6:20 p.m., on February 6, on Highway 50 near Pollock Pines, west of Fresh Pond.
The authorities said Macke was driving a 2014 Ford Escape on westbound Highway 50 at a speed of 65 mph when she drifted into oncoming 2013 Toyota Sienna at a curve. The two cars finally collided head-on.
Macke was taken to Marshall Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The other motorist and a passenger were hospitalized with severe injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
