Jacob Echegoyen Dies after Traffic Collision on Highway in 395 in Victorville

Jacob Echegoyen Identified as Person Killed in Victorville Motorcyclist Accident on Highway 395 near Bear Valley Road and La Mesa Road

Victorville, California (June 24, 2020) – Jacob Echegoyen, 25, of Victorville, has been identified as the motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic collision on Friday evening in Victorville, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s office.

The deadly crash transpired at about 5:30 p.m., on June 19, on Highway 395 between Bear Valley Road and La Mesa Road.

A white-colored truck with an attached trailer hauling party equipment was traveling northbound on Highway 395 when it made a U-turn to head southbound on Highway 395 to avoid heavy traffic from a previous non-injury crash, the police said.

At the same time, a white Honda Interceptor motorcycle, operated by Echegoyen, was also heading northbound on the roadway.

Echegoyen’s motorcyclist reportedly struck the side of the pickup truck as the truck was completing the U-turn.

Echegoyen was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the truck was unhurt in the accident.

Traffic on the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 395 was stopped following the mishap, and as of 10:00 p.m., Highway 395 was reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.

“Far too many motorcycle collisions are caused by the carelessness or recklessness of other motorists. Sadly, when this occurs, motorcyclists are the ones who tend to suffer the vast majority of injuries”, according to Arin Khodaverdian, Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group. Under California’s rule of comparative negligence, a victim may be able to collect compensation for injuries and other damages even if you were partly at fault for the accident.

He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”
