Gregory Leiva Killed in Interstate 205 Collision near Tracy
Gregory Leiva Killed in San Joaquin County Crash on Interstate 205 Wednesday Morning
San Joaquin County, California – Following a San Joaquin County accident that happened on northbound Interstate 205 near Tracy on Wednesday morning, Gregory Leiva, 32, of Stockton, was killed.
The CHP said that the accident happened shortly before 6 am when a vehicle attempted to travel into the right lanes was clipped by a big rig.
Leiva was traveling at a high rate of speed and changed lanes to pass slower-moving vehicles. As he tried to pass the big rig, his vehicle clipped the rear end of the big rig.
Due to the impact, the vehicle jumped over the guardrail felling down by 30 feet. It landed at a scaffolding site on northbound Interstate 5.
The witnesses tried to save Levia from the vehicle as it burst into flames following the accident.
Sadly, Leiva was killed in the accident.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
Due to the accident, several lanes were blocked as authorities investigated the accident.
