1 Person Injured in Pinole Car Accident on 80 Freeway near Pinole Valley Road Off-Ramp
Pinole, California (February 26, 2020) – One person was hurt when two vehicles collided Tuesday morning on 80 Freeway in Pinole, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to CHP, a pickup truck and another car collided at about 10:11 a.m. near the Pinole Valley Road off-ramp.
The pickup truck rolled over after the impact, and the other car slammed into a tree and caught fire. One person was trapped inside the burning car.
Firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire before removing the car’s roof and doors to extricate the victim.
That person was transported to a hospital by an ambulance with possible major injuries.
There were no details given about the occupants of the pickup.
An electric sign and several posts were destroyed in the crash.
CHP is investigating the accident.
