Hazel Lacy Killed in Car Crash on State Highway 24 in East Bay
East Bay, California – According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly crash was reported on the soaking wet highway just east of the Gateway Boulevard off-ramp. This incident happened on early Sunday morning.
A 2-year-old girl child identified as Hazel Lacy from Oakland was killed in the accident.
The CHP shared that a 23-year-old woman was driving a beige Kia sedan on the highway when she lost control of the car causing it to overturn and land on the dirt shoulder.
Due to the impact of the crash, Hazel was ejected from the seat. She was taken to the hospital by an ambulance but she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators have not mentioned if the child was properly seated with seat belts fastened. Rest, CHP also stated that it was not known whether the driver of the Kia sedan was related to Hazel.
There was no case of DUI and alcohol or drugs are not the factors responsible for the crash.
