Carlos Garcia Killed in Deadly Livermore Big Rig Accident on I-580 Monday Afternoon
Livermore, California – Following the Livermore big rig accident on Interstate 580 that happened on Monday afternoon, Carlos Alberto Garcia, 12, of Manteca was killed.
On September 21, just before 1:20 pm, a semi-truck collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe in the westbound lanes near the Airway Boulevard off-ramp.
The Chevy was heading west on Interstate 580 when it collided with the big rig.
Following the accident, the impact caused the Chevy to flip several times. Carlos and another child in the Tahoe were ejected from the vehicle.
Carlos was declared dead at the accident scene meanwhile the other child was rushed to the hospital sustaining major injuries.
However, the operator of the big rig was not injured.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
