Man struck and Killed by Train on Chaster Avenue in Bakersfield

Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Bakersfield on Chaster Avenue Bakersfield, California (December 27, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a train on Thursday afternoon in Bakersfield, police said. The collision occurred at around 12:45 p.m. December 26, about 100 yards east of Chaster Avenue. Kern County Fire Department said the man was hit and killed by train for reasons still under investigation. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. No other details of the accident were immediately released. The investigation into the crash is still underway.
