Bicyclist Killed in Van Nuys Traffic Crash at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard ID’d as Fabian Abarca
Fabian Abarca Struck and Killed by Vehicle at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard in Van Nuys
Van Nuys, California (December 11, 2019) – 44-year-old Fabian Abarca of North Hills has been identified as the bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday evening in Van Nuys, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
The deadly bicycle collision happened at around 6:00 p.m. on December 7, at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard.
Abarca, who was riding his bicycle eastbound on the highway, was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection illegally.
The initial report indicated that the vehicle was entering the intersection on a green light at the time of the collision.
Abarca sustained unspecified injuries in the crash. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.
The operator of the involved vehicle stopped after the wreck and cooperated with the law.
Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing.
