Authorities Identify Elderly Man Killed in San Bernardino Bicycle Accident at Baseline Street and Crestview Avenue as Andres Moreno
San Bernardino, California (December 26, 2019) – The elderly man who was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday afternoon in San Bernardino has been identified by authorities as Andres Moreno, 87.
The fatal bicycle accident occurred at around 4:16 p.m. Monday, December 23 at the intersection of Baseline Street and Crestview Avenue.
Authorities said Moreno was riding his bicycle through the intersection when for an undetermined reason, he was struck by a Mercury Sable that was traveling westbound on Baseline Street.
Moreno sustained critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Sable was identified as Harlean Byers, 80. Byers stopped at the scene and cooperated with police.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were factors in the crash.
