Alyssa Scheda Killed in Placer County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 49 near Lone Star Road
Placer County, California (March 17, 2020) – Police officers have identified a teenager who was killed in an accident involving three cars on Saturday afternoon in Placer County, as Alyssa Scheda, 18, police said.
The crash was reported at around 2:45 p.m. March 14 on southbound Highway 49 near lone Star Road.
Authorities said Scheda was driving a white Honda Civic southbound when she drifted into the northbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a northbound black Mini Cooper before striking a box truck.
Scheda, a Bear River High School graduate, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Cooper was seriously injured and taken to a Roseville hospital for treatment.
The driver of the box truck was not injured.
The Honda and Mini Cooper had significant damage.
Alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be the cause of the crash.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
