Richard Hanson Seriously Injured in Cartago Collision on Highway 395
Cartago, California – Following a Cartago multi-vehicle accident that happened on Monday evening on Highway 395, Richard Hanson, 80, of Bishop sustained major injuries and was hospitalized, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Just before 7:43 pm, north of Crystal Geyser at Lone Willow Dip, Hanson was driving a 2001 tan Land Rover when he crashed into a black 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was driven by Jessica Juarez-Valenzi, 29, of Phoenix, Arizona.
Jessica reportedly stopped for southbound traffic where the two lanes merge.
The impact of the crash pushed the Silverado int a grey 2019 Toyota Yaris driven by Jesse Mendoza, 32, of Lancaster.
Richard sustained major injuries in the accident and was taken to the Southern Inyo Hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
