Brian Carbonell Critically Injured in Fatal Dana Point Crash on PCH and Selva Road
Dana Point, California – According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, a traffic crash on August 19 in Dana Point led Brian Carbonell, a 25-year-old resident of Rancho Santa Margarita to sustain critical injuries leaving his twin brother as dead.
At around 10 pm, The Laguna Beach police were chasing a Toyota Corolla on the PCH near Niguel Road when for unknown reasons they stopped the pursuit.
After a short while, the Toyota crashed into a Subaru Outback at PCH and Selva Road intersection.
Because of the crash, the driver of Subaru, Jason Carbonell, a 23-year-old resident of Rancho Santa Margarita was taken out of the wreck and rushed to the hospital, where he was declared as brought dead.
Brian and his brother Jason’s girlfriend Mayly Willey were the passengers in the Subaru Outback. Brian suffered from critical injuries including bad bruises and five rib fractures. He was taken to the Mission Hospital for treatment whereas Mayly was treated for ankle injuries.
The driver of the Toyota Corolla is identified as a 40-year-old woman who was also taken to the hospital and later arrested her in connection with the accident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation
