Coroner Identify Motorcyclist Killed in Traffic Crash on San Diego (405) Freeway near San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Seal Beach as Robert Carson
Seal Beach, California (April 28, 2020) – A traffic crash claimed the life of a Garden Grove motorcyclist Sunday morning in Seal Beach, authorities said.
Robert Carson, 48, of Garden Grove, was riding a motorcycle in the northbound lanes of San Diego (405) Freeway at about 4:07 a.m. April 26, when he crashed into the right shoulder wall south of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway.
Due to the impact, Carson was thrown from his bike and landed on the freeway lanes. He was then hit by at least two vehicles.
Carson died at the scene.
A SigAlert was issued at about 4:27 a.m., blocking all northbound lanes of the 405 Freeway. Traffic was diverted off at the Seventh Street exit.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
