Terry Tilton Fatal DUI Head-On Collision on Highway 227 in San Luis Obispo
72-Year-Old Terry Tilton Killed in San Luis Obispo Head-On Crash on Highway 227
San Luis Obispo, California (December 10, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim killed in San Luis Obispo head-on crash on Sunday evening as 72-year-old Terry Tilton.
The head-on collision happened on Highway 227 south of Patchett Road at approximately 6:00 p.m. on December 9.
The accident involved a 2005 GMC Yukon driven recklessly by 26-year-old Chelsea Stiles of Arroyo Grande northbound on the highway and a 2013 Honda driven by Tilton.
The initial report indicated that the GMC spun out of control and crossed into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with the Honda.
Tilton died in the accident.
Stiles and her18-month-old girl passenger were taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for medication.
Officials said Stiles sustained moderate injuries while the kid suffered minor injuries following the wreck.
Stiles, who was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and murder.
Meanwhile, the crash remains under an active investigation.
