Hemet Police Department Looking for Hit-and-Run Driver who Killed Pedestrian Friday Night
James Gauthier Jr. Killed in Hemet Pedestrian Crash on Warley Road
Hemet, California (December 10, 2019) – 46-year-old James Gauthier died after he was hit by a car Friday night in Hemet, a local news source reported.
Police are searching for the driver of the car who fled the scene after the crash.
According to police, they received a call about an auto-pedestrian accident at about 7:40 p.m. in the 3200 block of Warley Road.
Police and medical personnel arrived at the scene to find Gauthier lying unresponsive in the roadway.
The driver who hit him had fled the scene when the first responders arrived.
Gauthier, who was listed as a transient, was pronounced dead just after 8:00 p.m. Friday by the Riverside County Coroner’s Bureau.
Police are looking for the suspect driver and car. The vehicle was described as a black 2015-to-2017 Dodge Challenger with front-end damage.
