Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Watt Avenue and Kentfield Drive in Sacramento
48-Year-Old Man Killed in Sacramento Motorcycle Accident on Watt Avenue and Kentfield Drive
Sacramento, California (December 9, 2019) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic crash that occurred Sunday afternoon in Arden Arcade.
The fatal motorcycle accident took place at about 1:03 p.m. Sunday, December 8 on Watt Avenue and Kentfield Drive.
The CHP said a 48-year-old Sacramento man was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle at about 70 miles per hour on southbound Watt Avenue when he allegedly failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Kentfield Drive and was hit by a Hyundai Elantra that was heading eastbound with a green light.
The rider suffered major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Hyundai stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Alcohol or drugs were not considered factors in the accident.
Southbound lanes of Watt Avenue were closed for about two hours while the authorities investigated the crash.
