Woman Killed, Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Getting Struck by Vehicle at San Carlos Street and Brooklyn Avenue in San Jose
San Jose, California (February 23, 2020) – A woman was killed and a man sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday night in a pedestrian accident in San Jose, authorities said.
At about 7:00 p.m.Saturday, February 22, police received a report regarding the incident at the intersection of San Carlos Street and Brooklyn Avenue.
According to the police, the pedestrians were struck by a 2018 Ford Focus while they were crossing the intersection inside a designated crosswalk.
The two pedestrians were taken to a local hospital. Sadly, the woman was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Her name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The man remained hospitalized in critical condition as of Saturday night.
The driver of the Focus, an unidentified woman, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were not suspected factors in the accident.
