39-Year-Old Palmdale Man Dies, 60-Year-Old Llano Man Hospitalized after Crash in Palmdale
60-Year-Old Llano Man and 29-Year-Old Palmdale Woman Seriously Hurt in Palmdale Accident on 170th Street East
Palmdale, California (February 3, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a deadly Palmdale head-on crash that claimed a man’s life and left two others hospitalized with major injuries, according to authorities.
The fatal crash happened on 170th Street East, north of Avenue R, at around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, February 1.
As per the CHP officials, a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by 60-year-old Llano man was traveling northbound on 170th Street East while at the same time a 2007 Nissan Frontier operated by 39-year-old Palmdale man was heading south. For unknown reasons, the Dodge drifted into the southbound lane and it slammed head-on into the Nissan.
Responding emergency crews declared the Palmdale man dead at the scene. A Frontier passenger, identified as a 29-year-old Palmdale woman, was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Dodge driver was taken to the same hospital with major injuries.
Officials did not immediately release the names of the involved parties.
