Pedestrian Killed in Bakersfield Accident with Semi Truck on Highway 58

Bakersfield, California – Following a Bakersfield accident that occurred shortly before 8 pm on Saturday night, involving a semi-truck, one pedestrian was killed.

The CHP said that a pedestrian was hit by a big rig on eastbound Highway 58 near Mount Vernon Avenue.

After hitting the pedestrian, the semi continued on for a short distance just before coming to a stop.

The victim is believed to be hit by another vehicle and died at the scene.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 58 were closed as authorities examined and cleared the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
